Backhoe Bob digging the hole

We first dig the hole, one foot deeper and one foot wider, one foot longer than the measurements of the shelter.
Dennis leveling the floor

Then we pour six inches of concrete in the base of the hole for the floor.
Lowering the shelter into the hole

Then we immediately set the steel unit in the hole so that the steel plates can anchor into the concrete.
Finishing the seamless pour

While the concrete floor is still wet we pour up the sides with 6" thick concrete walls, and pour 4 to 6 inches over the top, completely encasing the steel shelter inside of the concrete.
Covered with top soil

The shelter is completely below the surface of the ground with approximately 6" of topsoil over the top. There is no ugly mound in the yard; it is level with the ground, with the door up above by only 4-6 inches, and the vent turbine.
